Idex becomes a mission-driven company, making a firm commitment to accelerating the energy transition
Idex reached a new milestone in its history when it became a mission-driven company (entreprise à mission) on 18 September 2025. This transformation, which formally embeds the Group's corporate purpose in its articles of association, steps up its long-standing commitment to the energy transition and to sustainable development in communities.
Our mission is at the core of our DNA
Idex, which has been developing, designing, financing, building and operating local, low-carbon energy infrastructure for more than 60 years, has taken one step further by enshrining its purpose – "Accelerate the energy transition by promoting local, low-carbon solutions" – in its articles of association.
This purpose, which it set out in 2020 in its corporate project, Idex 2030, has thus become a central pillar in the Group's strategy and a key consideration in its decisions. It is underpinned by three goals that will guide Idex's action over the coming years:
- Act for the climate through solutions that accelerate the energy transition
- Act for sustainable development at local level
- Act for a safe, inclusive and stimulating work environment
Concrete and measurable commitments
Becoming a mission-driven company involves much more than stating an intent: the status, introduced by France's PACTE (action plan for business growth and transformation) Act in 2019, requires Idex to take concrete measures to put its purpose into practice then report on progress.
It has appointed eight stakeholder representatives and/or experts in the relevant fields to an independent mission committee. The committee will review Idex's action at regular intervals and release its findings in a report available to the public. A separate independent third party will verify every two years that the Group is fulfilling its stated goals.
By making this move, Idex reaffirms its aim to be a key partner for communities on their decarbonisation journey by delivering innovative, local and low-carbon solutions at every stage from production to end use.
