Idex, independent leader in local energy transition, announces the conclusion of a strategic partnership with Italian company CO-VER Power Technology. This alliance marks a decisive milestone in IDEX's international development and its entry into the Italian market, a key territory for accelerating Europe's energy sovereignty.

A market with vast decarbonisation potential

Italy is Europe's 2nd largest consumer of industrial heat. Its energy services market is expected to reach €1 billion in annual investments by 2030, driven by increasingly ambitious climate targets and an industry undergoing profound transformation.

Faced with the limits of public budgets, IDEX champions a proven model: decarbonisation financed by private investment. Having mobilised €360 million in 2025 to finance local energy infrastructures in France, IDEX is now deploying its financing capacity and technical expertise beyond its borders.

CO-VER: a leading partner for Italian industry

Founded in 2006 and based in Verbania, Piedmont, CO-VER Power Technology has established itself as an indispensable reference in Italian energy efficiency. A specialist in the design, construction and operation of high-tech energy infrastructures, the company masters the entire value chain — from complex engineering to operational maintenance — with a diversified asset portfolio spanning cogeneration, trigeneration and photovoltaics.

This local expertise, combined with IDEX's financing capacity and integrated model, enables Italian industrialists to achieve immediate, tangible decarbonisation, without drawing on their own capital.

An operational roadmap built on three pillars

The alliance between IDEX and CO-VER is structured around three strategic priorities:

  • Transition of existing assets: progressive shift of current installations towards biomethane, biomass and industrial waste heat recovery.
  • Decarbonisation of new industrial sites: turnkey supply of decarbonised steam, heat, cooling and electricity.
  • Deployment of territorial infrastructures: development of urban district heating and cooling networks.

An international ambition in motion

This move into Italy is a natural continuation of IDEX's international development, already present in Belgium, Luxembourg and Lithuania. It confirms that a rigorous third-party investor model, rooted in local territories and focused on the long term, is fully replicable at a European scale.

The energy transition knows no borders. It calls for partners capable of investing, designing and operating sustainably. This is precisely the commitment that IDEX and CO-VER are making together for Italian industry.
